Accountability for Region 2

Kyle is a Pediatric Pharmacist, the Assistant Lead Steward at Victoria General Hospital, and a member of your Bargaining Committee elected to represent our region.

He is deeply committed to advancing equity, transparency, and accountability within HSA to strengthen our union.

Kyle lives and works on the unceded ancestral lands of the Lekwungen speaking people, including the Esquimalt and the Songhees Nations.

Kyle has led organizing efforts and championed transparency and member engagement across Region 2, and at the bargaining table for all HSA members. His record demonstrates assertive, capable, and principled leadership as well as a deep commitment to serving our membership.

Advocacy Milestones

From grassroots campaigns to advocacy through committees, Kyle has proposed successful resolutions at Convention, amplified the voices of Region 2 members, and established himself as a trusted and respected leader among HSA members and staff:

  • Representing, organizing, and serving our members as Assistant Lead Steward of Victoria General Hospital
  • Proposed two successful resolutions at the 2025 Convention that were passed on the floor to promote accountability and transparency
    • Allow rank-and-file members full access to all of HSA’s policies that govern their participation within the union
    • Provide members full access to minutes from Board of Director meetings
  • Championing meaningful member engagement in the stewardship of our benefits, including a proposed resolution for the 2026 Convention to add a member representative to the JHSBT Board of Trustees
  • Fighting for members’ priorities as the elected representative for Island Health on the Bargaining Committee
  • Led the push for a successful member engagement campaign that saw more site visits from this Bargaining Committee that occurred earlier in the bargaining process, not only at ratification
  • Established as a respected leader among HSA members and staff that has been repeatedly selected as a spokesperson for challenging discussions related to governance and complex issues such as costing of bargaining proposals
