Transparency and Accountability
- Publish clear, accessible minutes from Board of Director meetings including summaries of all major decisions affecting HSA members.
- Provide full access for all members to all of HSA’s policies.
- Create open feedback channels for members to raise concerns and track responses, including a Regional Director email account where member’s emails are received and responded to directly by their Regional Director.
- Establish measurable goals for leadership and report publicly on where we are succeeding and where we still have work to do through regular written summaries to Region 2 members.
Member Engagement
- Hold regular town halls and listening sessions across Region 2, including in-person and virtual options.
- Build a Region 2 communication plan that keeps members informed through regular site-visits, email, and social media.
- Encourage greater involvement of Region 2 members on HSA committees and working groups on key issues.
- Support leadership development opportunities for interested members.
Strengthen Collective Bargaining
- Offer continuous member participation, including between rounds of negotiations, to ensure we are prepared to achieve the best deal possible.
- Provide ongoing education regarding contract interpretation, collective bargaining fundamentals, and job action.
- Ensure bargaining teams reflect the diversity of our membership with a variety of professions, perspectives, and type of workers.
- Share contract wins and lessons learned so all members can benefit from successful strategies.
